Winter 2021

Ruth BunnewellRuth Bunnewell
Ruth Bunnewell – 28th October to 3rd November
I focus equally on two aspects in my work, the first being the aesthetic quality, whilst the second is an attempt to capture an atmosphere connected to a place. I am interested in the notion that certain places have memories attached to them, and in the way that these memories alter emotions connected to, and perceptions of, a place. Although this is the basis for a lot of my work, I want the aesthetics of each piece to be of equal importance, allowing the work to stand up based on this quality alone.  I believe strongly in trying to create work that supports itself by merit and does not rely on the idea or concept that it is based upon.
See Ruth's work now on her Online Gallery page.
Jane Beaumont
Jane Beaumont – 4th to 10th November
Jane’s fascination with the medium of collage embodies her journey through life – a mosaic of experiences that have challenged and shaped who she is today.
She draws from a rich source of life-experiences: as an educator, a play therapist, a creator and trainer of programmes for children and teachers in the world's most vulnerable communities and as an interior designer. All this has been woven together on the canvas of her current art practice.

Moira Frazer Steele and Jane Ford – 11th to 17th November
Jane Ford’s textiles incorporate all types of ephemera ... beads, buttons and found materials which she incorporates into her innovative textile pictures.
Moira Frazer Steele is a graduate of the RCA and past director of the Design Council, a post held for more than seven years. Her background in design gives her work a graphic approach concentrating upon shape and form often using a combination of paint and collage. In 2013 she was the recipient of the ‘President’s Award from the Royal Watercolour Society.
Clive BarnettMadelaine Nightingale
Layered Landscapes, Clive Barnett and Madelaine Nightingale – 18th to 24th November
We have been influenced by Coastal Suffolk with it's light, land and seascape and restless energies – a place of changing horizons. Both artists present contemporary artworks which respond to these forces. Madelaine likes to show her sketchbooks so that the viewer can see her inspiration. Clive prints and sells silk and linen scarves.
